Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 500 g all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 10 g salt
  • 300 ml milk warm
  • 50 g unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg beaten
Filling Ingredients
  • 150 g cheddar cheese grated
  • 50 g parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme chopped
Glaze Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp milk for brushing
  • 1 tbsp honey for sweetness

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Add Filling and Shape Buns
  1. Once risen, punch down the dough and knead in the grated cheeses and herbs.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into a bun.
  3. Place the buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
  4. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Buns
  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Brush the tops of the buns with a mixture of milk and honey.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
