Ingredients
  

For the Batter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Mix-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet
  • 1 cup cherries fresh or frozen
Optional Topping
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl: combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars together in a large mixing bowl for 3-5 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Combine the wet and dry mixtures gradually, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and cherries carefully until evenly distributed.
  8. Spread the batter into a greased baking pan.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
