  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients with sour cream until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in chopped apples and nuts if desired.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle turbinado sugar on top.
  8. Bake for about 50-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
