  • For Topping: 1 ½ cups brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 ½ cups hot water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together melted butter, milk, and vanilla in a bowl until combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Combine with wet mixture until just mixed.

  5. Mix brown sugar, hot water, white sugar, and additional cinnamon in a separate bowl; pour over the batter without stirring.
