  • 1 lb beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Marinate the beef strips for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Sauté sliced onions in a skillet until soft and caramelized; season with salt and pepper.
  3. In the same skillet, increase heat and stir-fry marinated beef strips until browned.
  4. Mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch. Add to beef in the skillet and simmer until thickened.
  5. Combine beef with onions and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
