- 1 lb beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Prepare the marinade by whisking together soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Marinate the beef strips for 10-15 minutes.
- Sauté sliced onions in a skillet until soft and caramelized; season with salt and pepper.
- In the same skillet, increase heat and stir-fry marinated beef strips until browned.
- Mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch. Add to beef in the skillet and simmer until thickened.
