  • Kosher salt and pepper
  • 1/3 cup apple juice or chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper; place in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix apple juice (or broth), brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic; pour over chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 3 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, whisk cornstarch with cold water; stir into the sauce to thicken.
  5. Serve over rice or noodles and garnish with green onions.
