  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • Vegetable oil for spraying

Instructions

  1. Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux; cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually add milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; simmer until thickened (3-4 minutes).
  4. Stir in shredded mozzarella and Parmesan until melted. Mix in cooked macaroni; let cool for about 15 minutes.
  5. Shape the mixture into small balls and roll each in beaten egg followed by breadcrumbs.
  6. Lightly spray each ball with vegetable oil and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
