  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 ½5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ cup mashed banana
  • For the filling: 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 large bananas (thinly sliced)
  • For the frosting: ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix lukewarm milk, melted butter, sugar, and mashed banana.
  2. Gradually add flour mixed with instant yeast and salt; knead until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about an hour).
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread filling and layer sliced bananas.
  6. Roll tightly into a log; cut into about 12 rolls and place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Let rise again for about 30 minutes, then preheat the oven.
  8. Pour warmed heavy cream over rolls before baking at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 25-30 minutes.
  9. While baking, prepare frosting by mixing softened cream cheese and butter until smooth; add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  10. Drizzle frosting over slightly cooled rolls before serving.
